What We Do
Partnerships between on-the-ground care communities, OJM, and its official partners operate according to the model of release-based orphan care, which assists care communities to move orphans and vulnerable children towards healthy, productive adulthood, while also being continually less dependent on outside assistance in providing that care.
The basic socioeconomic needs of every child are to be met with excellence with a view towards equipping them for a hopeful and satisfying future. These basic socioeconomic needs are separated into the broad categories of Business, Education, Family, Health, and Spirituality.
Business – To continually decrease unemployment and increase household income in orphan care communities and provide opportunities for vocational training, job placement, and business creation.
Education – To graduate students who meet local pre-University standards or the equivalent of a United States high school level education.
Family – To place every double orphan in a safe, stable, and loving environment.
Health – To provide clean water, a sufficient nutritional diet, and basic preventative health care to every child.
Spirituality – To develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and connect children to local congregations.
OJM Projects & Programs in Ddwaniro, Uganda
OJM is partnered with the Glory of Christ Community Development Initiative (GCCDI) in the rural community of Ddwaniro located in Uganda's Rakai district. The primary objective of GCCDI is to create healthy, sustainable communities where the inhabitants, especially orphans and vulnerable children, are given a hope and a future in Christ's name. OJM and GCCDI envision a Ddwaniro community where the basic socio-economic needs of every individual are met with excellence, and where the majority of resources needed to meet these needs arise from within the Rakai District itself.

Other OJM Projects
- OJM is currently exploring future partnerships with other communities in Uganda. Please keep OJM and these communities in prayer as we begin forming new relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ and work together to ensure that that orphans and vulnerable children may grow up into healthy, productive adults, with their communities empowered and equipped to independently support them as quickly as possible.
- Join us as we pray for the orphans of the Haiti earthquake.
